Molli McMills and her sassy lyrics was here with her sister Cindy Scott in January.
Rusty Rhoad, who wrote and performed the musical “Say Yes” at Northwoods in 2022, writes mostly for his folk choir but has performed at Millbend on a number of occasions.
Jaunetta Cooper is a regular performer in “joints” around town—and scoring high at local open mike competitions.
Our line-up includes John Hammond, a professional musician since the sixties who feels obliged to learn every instrument that catches his fancy, and newcomer multi-instrumentalist Frank Imburgio, who brings a huge repertoire of social justice songs.
And then there’s Paul Klein, the father of the songwriter revolution at Northwoods, whose music was born out of his experiences as a Freedom Rider and the rock scene in the late sixties/early seventies. A tribute to Paul and his music will be performed by his Northwoods group, Klay Vage, led by his wife Aliceann Andrus-Klein.
Finally, there’s the incomparable Willie B Arenas. Willie B is a long-time professional musician in and around the Houston Area and known by just about everybody. He headlined Millbend in 2022 and is back to close out our set.
Millbend Coffeehouse meets the 2nd Saturday of every month and is a smoke free, family friendly environment. We are part of the social outreach commitment of Northwoods Unitarian Universalist Church in The Woodlands, Texas.
All proceeds of this special performance will be given to Northwoods Unitarian Universalist Church.
