Knitted (and Crocheted) Knockers

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is this month, and women all over the country need what we fiber artists can provide. Come to my house, and let’s make some prosthetic breast inserts to help empower women who have lost their breasts to cancer. I will have the patterns for both knit and crochet, as well as a selection of approved yarns for the projects. Please bring your own hooks/needles. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages provided. Heritage and Hospitality Museums and Lunch Tour

Join us for a day of local history and good company! We’ll visit the Conroe Historical Museum and the Old Town Spring Museum, exploring fascinating stories from our region’s past. Shazam! 4th Annual Showdown

Shazam! is back for its 4th annual showdown—bigger, louder, and more outrageous than ever! Test your music savvy in this fast-paced interactive game where you’ll race the clock (and each other) to name the greatest hit songs of all time. Prizes are on the line—for both the ultimate music master and the poor soul who clearly grew up under a rock. Snacks and drinks are provided; feel free to BYOB to keep the vibes flowing. This unapologetically R-rated event promises plenty of laughs, surprises, and maybe a little friendly humiliation. Brave enough to bring the kids? That’s on you. Arts and Entertainment

Saturday, August 29, 2026 – 6:30 pm.
A party in the grand tradition of Arts in Action, which we haven’t held in a couple of years. Entertainment–musicians, poets, storytellers, even a few of the best videos of the COVID years. And then there is the famous Art Dash. More than 50 pieces of art, each worth much more than the $40 ticket. If you buy one of these tickets, you get to dash. When your name is called, you can claim any of the pieces still hanging on the wall. A great event that we just had to bring back, even if it’s not quite the same. We’re providing art, entertainment, and non-alcoholic beverages. You’re bringing a dish to share–appetizers or desserts, BYOB if desired, and your enthusiasm for the arts and artists of Northwoods.
